The Gardener's Candidate

This blog is generally apolitical, but I must make an exception during this crucial Presidential election year. It's time for us gardeners to flex our political muscles and vote our interests. I'm happy to endorse not one of the Republicans battling it out in the primaries, nor President Obama. No, we need to break the two-party system and elect an better candidate from a Third Party. There is no better person for President than the Greenthumb Party candidate, Emil LePlant.

Not only does Emil LePlant have electable, Presidential hair, he also has many great ideas. Emil LePlant pledges to end tax cuts for the wealthy and instead give tax cuts to people who grow their own food. Extra tax cuts will go to those who donate some of their produce to Grow a Row for the Hungry. Subsidies to big oil will be transferred to independent garden centers and nurseries across the country. He will appoint a Gardening Czar to ensure that gardening is promoted and that gardening programs will again be seen on television. Emil LePlant has a plan for improving foreign relations by allowing American gardeners to freely import plants and seeds from other countries, calling it "a great stride forward for the free exchange of plants and ideas."

I'm not the only one supporting Emil LePlant. He's been endorsed by various environmental and gardening groups, such as The Sierra Nevada Club, Emeraldpeace and the Sheboygan Garden Club.

Emil Le Plant: a candidate we can all feel good about.
